Traditional West African live shows at Festival Rare Talents 2016

Traditional West African Music

First of all, I managed to catch two performances of Traditional West African music bands at Festival Rare Talents.

Secondly, it was the festival’s closing performances on Saturday 28th May 2016 in Montreuil (Paris). I’m glad I didn’t miss them! I truly enjoyed the performances!

The main band was Sékouba Bambino from Guinea. The latter band is composed of:

  • Sékouba as lead singer,
  • a choir from Mali

FESTIVAL LIVE RECORDINGS

Finally, I haven’t taken pictures at the event. But don’t worry, you’ll get plenty of videos!

King Ibu, traditional senegalese musician and singer

While discovering the different music types and world radio stations on the brilliant TuneIn Radio application available on both iphone and ipad, i came accross a podcast on King Ibu.

I enjoyed the little snippets of music I heard and searched for more information about him. I found few Youtube videos but also his page with couple of sample tracks and music store on ReverbNation. So check out this link below and share the love through the Facebook and Twitter buttons on his page:  http://www.reverbnation.com/kingibu
