The MC & Judges Matthew Williamson and Tobi Omoteso have been judging the freestyle hip hop and breakdance battle at Andrews Lane Theatre, Dublin 2 on Thursday 19th December 2013. Jane Shortall together with Matthew have been hosting the event and presenting the different dance crews of all ages: adults, teenagers and children as well as the fundraising purposes (for more information on this, check the videos’ comments).

2013 Irish Hip Hop Dance Workshops taught by championship judges

Referring to my blog post from 14th February 2013 about the Irish Hip Hop Championships, you may like to know that, in addition to the dance competition programme, there will also be dance workshops taught by the judges themselves on Sunday 14th April 2013!

How to learn hip hop foundation dance moves

If you have been desperately trying to learn the basic hip hop dance styles moves, including popping, locking, grooving, etc…, you will be happy to hear that there is a fantastic Youtube video channel giving tutorials at a beginners’ level :)! I know, you will say there are plenty of them on Youtube, but this particular one covers many steps and styles in easy to follow tutorials.

After following these basic foundations/moves explanations, first without and then with music, you will be able to master the isolated moves and put them altogether to create a great choreography of your choice! So, give it a go and get creative!

Sin Nightclub Street Dance Competition, Dublin (Ireland)

For those who are fans of street dance and have missed the Street Dance Competition organised by Sin Club, 17-19 Sycamore Street,Temple Bar,Dublin, here is your chance to watch a live video taken at the event on Saturday 17th November 2012.
