Street School Dance Battles organised by Vigozone in Hamburg (2015)

While planning a holiday trip in Hamburg (Germany), I researched any interesting hip-hop dance events in the city.

I came across the street school dance battles event. I received a free ticket for the dance live performances.

The street school dancers were teenagers of different ages with one common goal: giving the best performance they could to the audience.

And what a show! I felt the dance level was pretty high! I watched incredible crew choreography and battles from all styles, such as:

  • new style hip-hop,
  • locking,
  • popping,
  • b-boying
  • k-pop,
  • dancehall,
  • afrobeat
  • salsa.

The host himself was pretty good at dancing. He was also very entertaining.Ā šŸŽ‰

One of the judges and his dance partner performed their duet choreography.

If you’d like to know more about the stakeholders at this event, check theirĀ Facebook event page.

Now, impatient to see what it looked like? Please find below a small slide show.

I filmed:

  • 4 battles,
  • 5 crew/duet choreography
  • 2 dance demonstrations from the presenter.

To watch them, I invite you to subscribe to my YouTube Channel!

Dance Aware fundraising event at Twisted Pepper (August 2014)

Dance Aware

First of all, Dance Aware was a fun-filled night of dancing atĀ  Twisted Pepper on Friday 15th August 2014.

As a side note, you will not find any information anymore about the ‘Twisted Pepper‘ venue name as it has closed in down in 2015. ItĀ has however re-opened after restorations under the name of Wigwam.

Secondly, the annual dance aware event showcased various dance styles from across the globe, such as:

  • Lyrical Hip Hop (mix of hip-hop and contemporary dance)
  • Traditional African Dance
  • Hula Hoop
  • Tribal Fusion Belly Dance
  • Polynesian Dance
  • Flamenco
  • Italian and Polish Folk Dances…

We were very lucky to have the fabulous Kristine Adams of FatChanceBellyDance performing at this event.

Dance Aware

As regards to the fundraising event itself, it was organised by Resham-Ka Tribal in aid of Aware.

The aware charity helps people affected by stress, depression and mood disorders.

Furthermore, if you would like to know more about this charity, donate or raise funds for them, visit their website.

If you would like to view pictures from the event, please check their related Facebook event page.

Man In The Mirror, The Music Of Michael Jackson Irish Tour 2014

Michael Jackson Irish Tour

I attended a tribute show at the Olympia Theatre in Dublin on Saturday 28th June 2014 as part of a Michael Jackson Irish Tour.

So, if you missed it, you still have the opportunity to view snippets of the show! I took the videos right at the end of the show during their ‘encore’ as we weren’t allowed to film beforehand.

Although this particular tour with dancers is over, you may want to stay up-to-date with their next project through their Facebook page. Indeed, Johnny Walker and his band perform more or less every year in Ireland, so keep an eye on the ‘Events’ section! Not sure if the dancers are always following, though!

Also, I would like to congratulate Anthony Walker (singer), musicians and Dublin based dancers:

  • Mateusz Szczerek Slc
  • Alex AJ O’Neill Slc
  • Don King Rongavilla
  • Justin Fuentes
  • and Chris Dylus

for this amazing live performance!

Here are few pictures I took at the Olympia Theater show in Dublin:
